Macclesfield Stripe Dyeing and Weaving Workshop

Learn to dye silk ribbons, weave them on a frame loom and stitch the resulting cloth into a pouch or purse at the Silk Museum on Saturday 3 October 2026. The workshop is inspired by the Macclesfield Stripe and includes a viewing of historic textiles from the museum collection.

The session is led by weaver Caitlin Binks and natural-dye and historical-textile practitioner Kirsteen McGregor. Beginners are welcome and all materials are provided.
