Bluedot Festival 2025

Bluedot Festival organisers have confirmed the festival will be taking a break in 2024. We’ll update details about Bluedot Festival 2025 when officially announced. As of January 2025, we have had not updates which indicate the festival will go ahead this year.

Bluedot 2023 experienced very heavy rainfall on the site over the festival weekend, turning the site  in to a mud bath. It was confirmed this week that the damage will take longer to recover than anticipated.  Bluedot have created a unique festival celebrating science, arts and music. Underpinning Bluedot’s mission is a sincere love and respect for the earth and environment, they felt a moral obligation to honour their principals and allow the site to fully recover and regenerate.

We feel very honoured to have attended every year of Bluedot since 2016 and look forward to it’s return in 2025.

2023 Archive 

Despite the rain and mud, thousands of Bluedot festival lovers endured the unprecedented weather and enjoyed the bumper 3 day line up of music, science and culture. Whilst Sunday ticket holders had to be refunded due to mud issues both on site and parking areas, the festival ran as planned. The organisers and staff have been praised for their amazing effort!

The award winning festival is an unforgettable experience combing music, science and culture. Bluedot continues to prove it is truly one of the most unique festivals in the UK. The line up for 2023 has been announced  with an out of this world line up of bands, musicians, Dj’s, Science speaker, cutting-edge researcher.

This years theme is ‘Space Carnival’, encouraging festival goers to join in the colourful cosmic fun! Expect daytime parties, drum circles, breathtaking twilight parades, immersive art and much more to be announced over the coming months.

The 2023 Bluedot Festival line up is expected to be announced on Monday 23rd January 2023 and we expect early bird tickets to released shortly after!

Bluedot festival returns this Summer. The award winning festival is set in grounds of Jodrell Bank in Macclesfield, overlooked by the world famous Lovell telescope. Combining science, music and entertainment over 4 days, a comic experience not to be missed.

The Bluedot organisers have reconfirmed their commitment to holding the festival after a two year break and  confirmed the dates – Thursday 21st July to Sunday 24th July 2022.

The line up of bands, musicians, Dj’s and guest speakers have been announced. Headliners include Bjork, Groove Armada, Mogwai, Spiritualized, Metronomy, Jane Weaver, Hannah Peel and more. Details of the full line up can be found on this link – https://www.discoverthebluedot.com/lineup/

Previous headline performers include Kraftwerk 3-D, New Order, The Chemical Brothers, Pixies, The Flaming Lips, Underworld and Jean-Michel Jarre. There have also been high-profile talks from Brian Cox, Helen Sharman, Alice Roberts and Richard Dawkins.

Bluedot Festival received the ‘Best Small Festival’ at the NME awards for 2019 which boasted a line up and artists including Hot Chip, Kraftwerk and New Order, amongst a cosmic line up of other bands, artists, talks.
