Our town centre is the heart of our community and vital to our wellbeing and livelihoods. Totally Locally is one of the UK’s biggest grass-roots high street campaigns. The campaign was created to help towns become stronger, more vibrant and resilient.
We’re excited to announce that Totally Locally Macclesfield launches on Saturday 28th October. Over the coming weeks look out for special loyalty promotions. Learn more about the wonderful community of independent businesses in our town centre. More importantly, help spread the word about Totally Locally Macclesfield and share the messages about how we can all help shape the future of our town centre.
Visit Macclesfield will be proudly supporting Totally Locally Macclesfield as part of our ongoing commitment to promote everything wonderful about our town. Look out for our new ‘2024 Macclesfield Town Centre Guide’, due to be published this November. The new guide is part of a 12 month campaign created to raise the profile of our town centre and its community of independent businesses.
Working together as a community, we have the power to boost our local economy, reduce our carbon footprint and shape the future of our high street and town centre.

The smallest of things can make a big difference. YOU can make a big difference by just spending an extra £10 per week with local independent businesses. Just this one habit could see an extra £31 millions pounds remaining within our local economy and not disappearing offshore. This money circulates and pays the wages of staff(supporting their families) who work in shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and offices across our town. It also supports local self employed trades people and their families.
This money is taxed, which in turn supports our local schools, hospitals, emergency services and other vital services we all need. Spending money locally isn’t charity, It benefits you, your family, friends and your community.
How we shop also has a massive impact on our environment. Every item you buy locally reduces packaging waste and the carbon footprint to get to your shopping basket. Did you know we have a local delivery service “ELOV” who can deliver any item you purchase on the high street to your home on bicycles?
How and where we spend our money remains one of the most powerful ways we can influence our future. This means YOU can make a difference. One or two little weekly changes to your shopping routine can shape the future of our community, high street and town centre.
