True Order At Cinemac – New Order Tribute Act

Cinemac Cinema in Macclesfield have confirmed tickets are now on sale for ‘True Order’, one of the best New Order tribute bands touring the UK. The performance will be on Saturday 8th June from 7pm to 10PM.

New Order are one of the UK’s most well known bands from the 80’s and early 90’s, selling more than 8 million albums and globally famous for their track ‘Blue Monday’ which was the best selling 12″ of all time!

The gig is expected to sell out fast, especially due to Macclesfield’s strong connection with New Order. Lead singer Ian Curtis lived in Macclesfield, when the band originally formed as ‘Joy Division’ before Ian’s tragic death. The remaining band members reformed as ‘New Order’ and band members Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert lived in Macclesfield for many years. Bass player, Peter Hook also has a strong connection to Macclesfield, he performed two unique sell out gigs with his band ‘The Light’ at Christ Church in Macclesfield for the Barnaby Festival and a one off performance called ‘So This Is Permanence’ marking the 35 year anniversary of Ian’s death.
