The Wharf in Macclesfield is one of the towns award winning freehouse public houses and a renowned live music venue. You can regularly enjoy gigs from local musicians, big band jazz and solo acoustic guitar vocalists, through to touring US blues musicians.

The landlord, Chris Stairmand has a passion for single malts and craft beers. You’ll find over 40 malts and a fantastic range of bottled beers, plus five hand pulled cask ales, cask cider and two guest keg ales always on offer, there is something for everyone.

If you want to unwind, you can relax and watch Sky Sports and BT sports or play pool, table skittles or darts. The Wharf has plenty of parking and a sun-trap yard to the rear.

Covid-19 update from the pub as of November 30th 2020:

“To make the situation clear, as The Wharf is entirely wet-led and doesn’t offer substantial meals, we are remaining closed in accordance with government rules. We aren’t licensed with the council to serve food, and it isn’t financially viable to make it so I’m afraid. As a little good news, I’m working with a couple of musicians to bring something to cheer you all a little. More news soon.”
