Periwinkle & Clay Studio in Macclesfield is located on Pickford Street around the Park Green area of the town centre. The new studio offers pottery workshops, pottery painting as well as lots of wonderful pottery pieces to buy.

Claire is the proud owner and founder of Periwinkle and Clay, which originally began back in 2012. It all started when Claire created a Christmas gift for her sister by transferring her Instagram photos onto ceramic tiles! It wasn’t long before others were asking for similar pieces and she was inspired to begin her small business journey, creating unique personalised designs. After her daughter Eliza was born in 2014, Claire decided to run the business full time and leave her Corporate world behind.

In the years to following, the business grew and changed very quickly and got too messy and big for the family home. Moving to a self-contained unit in Bollington surrounded by beautiful Cheshire countryside location not far from her family home in Macclesfield. This is where she created the famous ‘Bollington Bear’ which come in all sizes and unique designs.

Over the last few years, Claire has enjoyed meeting more new customers at local markets and through running classes, workshops and paint-a-pot parties. 2024 sees a new chapter for the business as she expand her services to the local area of Macclesfield and offer more pottery workshops, pottery painting as well as designing and creating more of my pottery pieces to buy.

Claire’s joy comes from creating and designing. It’s safe to say she’s happiest at the bench conjuring up something new or helping someone create something from scratch – whether that’s from clay or painting a design.
