All Kinds of Roses — canal folk-art weekend is at Bollington Wharf, Bollington Wharf, Bollington SK10 5JB, on Saturday, 10 October 2026, continuing to Sunday, 11 October 2026. Heritage craftsman Phil Speight MBE leads a very small hands-on group through the distinct regional styles of traditional painted canal roses. Participants study old canal ware, then practise Braunston, northern and knobstick roses at Phil’s boatyard workshop and take home their own painted piece. Beginners are welcome, though returning painters may gain even more from the detailed tuition. There are no more than four people per course. All art materials and lunch on both days are included; tell the organiser about dietary requirements when booking. Accommodation is not included.
