Christmas Events
Step In To Christmas (Daytime Christmas Light Switch On Event) – Saturday 29th November 2025, 11am to 5pm.
Organised by Macclesfield Town Council and one of the most popular events in the towns calendar. Join us on Market Place for a full day of fun, music and Christmas festivities! The event starts at 11am with a warm welcome from the Major and followed by the annual carols around the Christmas tree with Macclesfield Youth Brass Band playing all your festive favourites. This is preceded by a full day of live entertainment on the Silk FM stage.
Make sure you don’t miss the carol singers, stilt-walkers, hula-hoops, face-painting, crafting and a live music from bands organized by Choose Macc and more, all around the beautiful Macclesfield Christmas Tree and lights!
This is the perfect opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and grab a drink and food from stalls on Market Place and businesses in the town centre. A full schedule for the day will be released closer to the time – be sure to follow us on social media for all the latest news and updates!
The Big Made In Macclesfield Christmas Maker Market – TBC
The market is being held in Macclesfield Town Hall. You’ll find some amazing made gift ideas amongst the local makers exhibit stalls.
The Elmer Art Trail – Macclesfield Town Centre – End of November
This Christmas, Elmers Art Parade arrives in Macclesfield. Running from the end of November 2025 to early January, twelve brightly coloured sculptures will create an exciting trail for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Trail maps will be available to pick up for Macclesfield Library, shops and cafes around the town centre.
Christmas Advent Window Trail – Macclesfield Town Centre – From December 1st 2025.
Not wanting to be left out, shops and businesses will be joining in with the Elmers Trail, featuring Christmassy window displays with festive scenes featuring Elmer! Follow the Advent Window Trail And Elmers Trail at the same time, ticking off elephants small and large!
Windyway Christmas Fair – TBC
Windyway Trust will be holding their annual Christmas Fair featuring lots of stalls and refreshments. To be held at Senior Citizens Hall, Duke Street, Macclesfield. Entry is £1.0 Open from 11 until 1.00pm

Join us ay St Peters Working Man Institute on Windmill Street, Macclesfield SK11 7HS. Crafts, Xmas wreaths, stalls, tombola, kids stalls, food, drink and more.
Christmas Advent Window Trail – TBC
The annual event is organised by Macclesfield Town Council and businesses around the town centre. Join in the festive fun and follow Macclesfield’s advent trail. Last year’s theme was Christmas wreaths and included over 55 local shops and businesses!
Macclesfield Christmas Tree Festival – At Christ Church from 4th December to 21 December 2025
The annual event is held at Christ Church in Macclesfield. Come down and enjoy the festive spirit and see the illuminated Christmas Trees decorated by local groups, businesses and charities.
Bollington Christmas Fair – TBC
To be held at Bollington Recreation Ground. The event includes a ‘Love Bollington Market’, music provided by Canalside Radio, Bollington Brass Band, Lions BBQ, Santa’s Grotto, mulled wine stall and balloon modelling plus two mini fairground rides for the kids. – More Info
Twilight Market (Late Night Christmas Shopping Event) – Thursday 11th December 2025, 2pm to 8pm.
Organised by Macclesfield Town Council, the late night Christmas shopping event is great opportunity to spend time with friends and family. Meet at the Christmas Tree and heated Tipi on Market Place. Enjoy a Christmas shop around town centre shops and ‘Made In Macc’ market stalls. Finish with a well earned bite to eat and festive drink from one of the local street food stalls, complemented with live music until 8pm!
The Town Carol Service – TBC
Join us at St Michael & All Angels Church, Market Place in Macclesfield for the annual Town Carol Service. Enjoy a service of festive carols, marking a very special time of year to reflect and celebrate. Supported by the Silk Brass Band and St Michael’s Choir.
Silk Brass Christmas Concert – TBC
Join us at St Michaels Church in Market Place in Macclesfield for a night of festive music and carols. Tickets are just £12 which can be purchased from Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre or on the door.
Christmas Treacle Market – Sunday 30th November and Sunday 21st December 2025, 10am to 3.30pm.
Join us on the cobbles for TWO very festive Treacle Markets! This year includes both the November and December markets, as the Macclesfield ‘Step Into Christmas’ event which marks the official countdown to is being held on Saturday 29th November. Christmas Treacle Market’s are the perfect time to pick up Christmas gifts, get into the festive spirit and don’t forget to buy a few things or yourself!
Bollington Carols Around The Tree – TBC
Join in with festive carol singing around the Christmas Tree outside Bollington Town Hall with Bollington Brass Band and Canalside Radio. Refreshment and food normally available but details have not been confirmed.
